I make vessels for the purpose of creating objects that are a pleasure to use, no matter how simple the meal is.  Seemingly random vessels come together in a Still Life formation, and play a part in the ritual of the food, serving a function without dominating. A sense of ceremony pervades the groupings and as you use the pieces you become aware not only of the sensuality and translucency, but also the tactility of the throwing lines that form the ridges, the memory in the making, registering the uniqueness of a handmade piece. The vessels are made from translucent porcelain, which is produced in Melbourne. Each form is initially thrown on the pottery wheel and then the shape altered
